Originally from Poughkeepsie, NY, Ms. Rai grew up training and competing at Queen City Dance, where she earned numerous titles both individually and as part of a team. Her teaching journey began at just 14 years old, first as an assistant and then as an instructor at QCD. She continued her teaching career when she joined MindBodyArt, where she is now entering her second season.
At MindBodyArt, Ms. Rai teaches a variety of classes including Shining Stars, Tap, Tumbling, Rhythm & Musicality, and Jazz. She has also been an invaluable member of the competitive team staff, assisting at competitions and supporting dancers both on and off the stage. With a heart for mentorship, she hopes to inspire young dancers and instill in them the same love and passion for dance that shaped her own journey.
In addition to teaching, Ms. Rai is pursuing a degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Sports Studies and a Business Certificate from the Smeal College of Business at Penn State. She is an active member of the Volé Dance Company, serving on the executive board as PR Chair, choreographing, and performing with their audition-based Performance Company. She also serves as Social Media Chair on the executive board of the College of Health and Human Development Honors Society, where she maintains a GPA above 3.5 and participates in service projects to give back to the community.
Beyond dance, Ms. Rai is completing a fellowship with the Penn State Football team’s Athletic Trainer, assisting with hydration, practice and gameday operations, and observing player treatment. Her dedication to both the arts and sciences shines through in everything she does, and she continues to inspire dancers with her knowledge, passion, and leadership.
