Our Ballet Program provides dancers with a strong classical foundation while developing proper technique, strength, flexibility, grace, musicality, and artistry. Classes are designed to help each dancer progress safely and confidently while building skills that support success in all styles of dance.

Ballet Foundations

Recommended for dancers ages 7+ who are building and strengthening their classical ballet foundation.

 

Ballet Foundations develops the essential skills of classical ballet through barre work, centre exercises, and across-the-floor progressions. Dancers build proper technique, body alignment, strength, flexibility, coordination, musicality, and confidence in a positive and encouraging environment.

Because ballet is a mastery-based discipline, many dancers remain in Ballet Foundations for multiple seasons as they continue refining their technique before progressing to the next level.

Ballet Progressions

Recommended for dancers ages 9+ with a minimum of two years of previous ballet training.

Designed for dancers with a solid ballet foundation, this class focuses on refining technique, increasing strength and flexibility, and performing more advanced combinations with greater precision, musicality, and artistry.

Pre-Pointe / Pointe

Available by instructor recommendation.

Designed for dancers who have demonstrated the strength, technique, and physical readiness for pointe work. Classes emphasize proper alignment, foot and ankle strength, injury prevention, and safe progression through classical pointe training.

BallroomKids™

 

Ages 7-11

 

BallroomKids™ is a one-of-a-kind program that introduces children to the exciting world of ballroom dance in a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate environment. Dancers explore styles such as the Waltz, Foxtrot, Cha-Cha, Swing, Salsa, Merengue, and more while developing rhythm, coordination, musicality, confidence, and performance skills.

 

More than just learning dance steps, BallroomKids™ helps children build valuable life skills including confidence, teamwork, communication, respect, leadership, and social etiquette in a positive and encouraging setting. Each class combines movement, creativity, and fun while inspiring dancers to develop poise, character, and a lifelong love of dance.

 

Whether your child is new to dance or looking to experience something unique, BallroomKids™ offers an engaging class that builds confidence both on and off the dance floor.

Contemporary Dance

 

Contemporary dance blends ballet, modern, and lyrical styles into a form of movement that encourages creativity, musicality, and emotional expression. Dancers develop strength, flexibility, coordination, and artistry while exploring fluid movement and expressive choreography.

 

Recommended for dancers ages 9+ with a minimum of two years of previous ballet, jazz, lyrical, or modern dance training.

 

This class builds on foundational dance skills while introducing more dynamic movement, creative choreography, and expressive performance. Dancers are encouraged to explore their individuality, connect with the music, and continue growing as confident, versatile performers.

Hip Hop Dance

 

Hip hop dance is a high-energy, rhythm-driven style that emphasizes creativity, musicality, and individual expression. Students develop coordination, strength, confidence, and performance skills while learning grooves, isolations, dynamic movement, and age-appropriate choreography. Hip hop encourages dancers to explore their own style while building versatility and stage presence.

 

Foundations

Students build a strong foundation in hip hop by learning basic grooves, rhythm, coordination, musicality, and introductory hip hop technique in a fun, supportive environment. Emphasis is placed on confidence, movement quality, and developing performance skills.

 

Progressions

As dancers gain experience, they continue to refine their technique while exploring more complex combinations, musical interpretation, isolations, and performance quality. Students are challenged to develop greater precision, versatility, personal style, and confidence while expanding their choreography and freestyle skills.

Jazz

Jazz Dance

 

Jazz is an energetic and expressive dance style that combines technique, musicality, strength, and performance. Dancers develop flexibility, coordination, turns, leaps, and confidence while learning dynamic choreography in a fun and encouraging environment.

 

Jazz Foundations

Recommended for dancers ages 7+ who are building and strengthening their jazz foundation.

 

Students develop fundamental jazz technique through flexibility, body alignment, across-the-floor progressions, turns, leaps, and choreography while building confidence, coordination, and performance skills. Many dancers remain in Jazz Foundations for multiple seasons as they continue refining their technique.

Pom Dance Program

Led by Ms. Melanie Wood, dancers will experience the spirit, precision, and excitement of pom while developing teamwork, confidence, and a love for performing.

 

Pom Stars

Ages 6–11

Designed for younger dancers who are building their pom foundation, this class introduces basic pom technique, sharp motions, rhythm, coordination, and performance skills through fun, age-appropriate choreography. Dancers develop confidence, precision, and teamwork while discovering the excitement of pom dance.

 

Pom Performance

Ages 10–17

Designed for dancers who are ready to explore the exciting world of pom, this class develops strong technique, precision, musicality, and performance quality through energetic choreography inspired by collegiate dance teams. Dancers build confidence, sharpen their skills, and experience the excitement of performing with power, style, and spirit.

These classes program is perfect for anyone who dreams of telling stories through song, movement, and character. Whether preparing for school productions, community theatre, or simply looking to build confidence and stage presence, students will gain:

Tap Dance 

 

Tap dance is a fun, high-energy style that combines rhythm, precision, and creativity. Students learn to make their feet an instrument while developing coordination, timing, musicality, and confidence through a variety of rhythmic footwork and combinations.

 

Foundations

Students build a strong technical foundation by learning essential tap skills, including basic steps, rhythm patterns, cramp rolls, time steps, shuffles, flaps, wings, pull backs, and clear sound production. Emphasis is placed on musicality, coordination, balance, and developing clean, accurate technique in a fun and encouraging environment.

 

Progressions

As dancers grow, they are introduced to more advanced rhythms, intricate footwork, faster combinations, and performance-focused choreography. Students continue refining their timing, precision, style, and musical interpretation while expanding their technical vocabulary and developing confidence as performers.
