Mr. Jay
Director of After School Enrichment, Tumbling/Acro, & Ninja Skills Programs
Mr. Jay’s ultimate purpose in life is to help develop the youth of our community. His passion for guiding young people began 16 years ago when he agreed to coach soccer—and he quickly caught the coaching bug. Since then, he has coached baseball, basketball, and football, including seven years with a local youth football organization and a year on the State College/Park Forest Middle School staff.
Always seeking to grow as an educator, Jay studies not only sports techniques but also the psychology of athletics and the profound impacts sports can have on children’s lives. He loves teaching movement and biomechanics, helping students fix movement deficiencies, overcome mental blocks, and become the best versions of themselves. True to the mission of MindBodyArt, Jay’s guiding principle is to “Leave it better than you found it,” bringing value and support to the community every day.
Currently, Jay serves as the Director of MindBodyArt’s After School Enrichment, Tumbling/Acro, and Ninja Skills programs. He wears many hats across the studio, from teaching to program management to hands-on support with daily operations. He is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, a Certified Tumbling Instructor through Coach Wayne Evans of Savannah, GA, a Certified Acrobatic Arts Instructor, and CPR/First Aid Certified.
“Coach Jay” or “Mr. Jay” was born and raised in Langhorne, PA. Growing up, he participated in baseball, football, bowling, and track and field. He attended Bishop Egan High School in Fairless Hills, PA, where he lettered in football, performed in Spirit Night activities, and appeared in his senior-year drama production of Mr. Roberts. Known for his hard work and dedication, Jay may not have been an elite athlete, but he was always among the most committed in the room.
Jay pursued higher education at Penn State University, starting as a Music major before switching to Psychology. He graduated with a B.S. in Psychology with an Industrial/Organizational focus. After college, he had a successful career in sales and sales management until joining MindBodyArt to help bring his passion for youth development and movement education to life.
Jay currently resides in Stormstown with his wife, MindBodyArt founder Michele, their two children—Ian, a football player at Old Dominion University, and Katie, an 11th grader and MindBodyArt dancer—and their two dogs, Graycie and Hudson.
